What to write in a party birthday card

Party cards call for energy. Keep the greeting upbeat and short, add a toast or a cheer, and invite the person to celebrate big. If you are using the card as an invitation instead, replace the greeting with the date, time and place, and keep each detail on its own line.

Sample messages to copy

Use one as it is, or start from it and add a detail only you would know.

  • Let the confetti fly! Happy birthday, and have the best night ever.

  • Cake first, questions later. Happy birthday to the guest of honor!

  • Turn up the music: it’s your birthday! Celebrate like nobody is counting.

  • Here’s to dancing, laughing and staying up way too late. Happy birthday!

  • Pop the balloons, cut the cake and make a wish worth waiting for.

  • Happy birthday! May your party be loud, your cake be big and your year be amazing.
